It's the fiftieth anniversary of the first flight of the Blackbird, so here's some pics to celebrate.

61-7959 - Big Tail mod, an attempt to add more electronics and sensors

61-7981 - The Bastard. A replacement for a crashed SR-71B trainer, it was made from a static test front fueslage, and the back half of the crashed YF-12A #06934

61-7980 - Also known as NASA 844, showing shock diamonds

To be honest, I like the tail flash NASA had on the YF-12s back in the 70s better, but I wanted to stay with only SR-71s for the main post.
